The purpose of the Adopt-A-Spot Program is to encourage and support volunteerism in the community, to develop a sense of community pride and ownership in Salado’s’ image, while enhancing the conditions and usability of Salado’s’ open space, parks, and certain right of ways and to further enhance the community landscape in an effort to beautify the community.
Be an ADOPTER
Any individual, family, business, or group can be an adopter. You will select your spot from the available locations and pledge to clean up a minimum of four times annually. This commitment is for one year.
Be a WATCHER
If you are unable to commit to cleaning a spot, that’s ok. You can still participate in the program by becoming a watcher! Just report litter conditions as you see them and we will make sure they get cleaned up.
Be an INVESTOR
Support KSB’s adopt-a-spot program with a monetary or in-kind donation. This is a great way for businesses or individuals to help pay for signs, trash/recycle bags, litter tongs, and more.

- Attend an orientation to complete paperwork and learn about the program, policies, and safety measures;
- Conduct a minimum of 4 cleanups annually; and
- Report each cleanup so we can record and recognize your efforts!
How it works
- Request more information by emailing clee@saladotx.gov .
- Attend the mandatory orientation and select an adopt-a-spot location, then schedule your first cleanup.
- Pick up supplies from your adopt-a-spot coordinator (trash/recycle bags, litter tongs, gloves, safety vests), if needed.
- Clean up your spot and dispose of your bags.
- Report your cleanup by email to clee@saladotx.gov
- Don’t forget – send us your photos so we can recognize you on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
