KEEP SALADO BEAUTIFUL WINS!
On June 12, 2018 Keep Salado Beautiful was awarded the 2018 Governor's Community Achievement Award.  Each year Keep Texas Beautiful along with the Texas Department of Transportation selects award winners from across the state of Texas for their ability to engage citizens, local businesses, schools and other organizations in environmental improvement initiatives that result in a landscaping award from TxDOT.

Salado was selected in Category 1: Population up to 3,000 and received an award of $90,000.

In the Spring of 2019 the Village of Salado will make a formal announcement on how this award will be used to continue Keep Salado Beautiful efforts in beautifying our incredible village.

The Village of Salado won 2nd place in  2017 Keep Texas Beautiful Governor’s Community Achievement Award!

For more than thirty years, Keep Texas Beautiful, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), has awarded the prestigious Governor's Community Achievement Awards to Texas communities for their outstanding overall efforts to keep their communities beautiful.
This year, ten winning communities will share $2 million in landscape awards from the Texas Department of Transportation, with the amount based on population size. The funds are used for landscaping projects along local rights-of-way. A community's environmental program is judged on achievements in seven areas:
  • Community Leadership and Coordination
  • Public Awareness
  • Education
  • Beautification and Community Improvement
  • Litter Prevention and Cleanup
  • Solid Waste Management
  • Litter Law and Illegal Dumping Enforcement
Keep Texas Beautiful just announced the winners of the 2017 Green Bag Grants and KSB is one of 13 winners!  KSB received $3,000 from H-E-B and Central Market to support community outreach and initiatives that focus on beautification, litter prevention, recycling, sustainability, waste reduction, water conservation, and plastic bag recycling and reduction.
