American Recycles DAY November 15, 2017

Keep Salado Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful join forces to Celebrate America Recycles Day November 15, 2017.
  • Will you take the pledge to Recycle?
  • Salado ISD students will collect the following items in the Clawson Recycle bins on campus. They are encouraged to bring items from home. The class that collects the most items on each campus will receive a prize.
    • Paper
    • Metal, including cans
    • Plastic
  • Electronics will be collected by the High School Robotics team

Why America Recycles Day?
  • To celebrate and increase recycling.
  • To improve education about what is recycled in your community.
  • To motivate people to recycle more by providing a way to demonstrate their commitment.

Reasons to Recycle
  • Recycling is the easiest thing we all can do 365 days a year to save energy, conserve natural resources and create green jobs.
  • Recycling is a multibillion-dollar industry that employs millions of Americans and helps advance our clean energy economy.
  • Our national recycling rate of 34.5 percent annually:
    • Saves the equivalent of the annual energy consumption of nearly 10 million U.S. households per year.
    • Avoids greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing more than 33 million cars from the road each year.

Currently About 30% of Salado households use curbside recycling. Please consider adding this service to your home waste account. It will make a world of difference for all of us.
